Clock Blocker

So tooling around the web early this morning I come across Clocky the Alarm Clock. Touted as the alarm clock that is sure to get you up and moving! This little bastard is on wheels and takes off around your room literally like a chicken with its head cut off.

Skeptical about this whole runaway clock thing, I checked out YouTube. Of course there are plenty of videos to serve as evidence that clocky is really the tormenting morning monster it's cracked up to be. If I had 50 dollars I'd certainly give it to Nanda for this little guy. Although I'm not sure it would be a good long term solution, it might go stale like the other ways we trick ourselves into waking. Such as setting the clock 15 minutes fast, putting the alarm across the room, using your tv or computer. All well and good for a couple weeks. I'm truly waiting for a company to offer the George Jetson treatment.

Theoretical Shirt Off My Back

So I've been bored at work all day and decided to do some online T-Shirt Window Shopping. I soon realized that there were an amazing amount of t-shirt sites out there. Here are some of my favorites.

Busted Tees is the first site that i encountered in my T-shirt buying life. I was drawn to them because their selection of shirts are completely hilarious. They are priced pretty average and offer Mens/Women/ and Kids size. They have free US shipping if you buy 3 or more shirts (Pretty standard practice really)

shirt.woot! is definitely my new favorite site for shirts. Although the majority of the shirts are not my taste you can't beat the price when there is one you like. If your familiar with woot! then you would understand the process. 1 day, 1 Shirt, 10 Bucks, Free Shipping...they go fast.

Threadless is a great site with a lot of shirts. They have all kinds of creativity flowing from this site. Prices start at $10 and climb from there. It's also a great site if you are into creating your own designs, they embrace and reward their independent creators. The 12 Club is unique to the site. It is a membership club that provides exclusive t-shirts to it's members.

You Know How to Cut to the Core of Me

Wow. Time Gap....well anyway.

Yesterday i watched the new Apple Keynote. Awesome as usual. The New Nano is a bit odd looking, I personally think that the new Nano's shape resembles the Blackberry 8705. But what do I know? The new features for the Nano are pretty cool, the games are a huge upgrade EA is making games for them now...crazy. Anyway the Classic iPod is now called the classic the new classic is available in a 160 Gigs...which is more storage space than my ibook and external harddrive. Apple now offers a scaled down iPhone that's called the iPod touch which includes the ability to pick up wifi and run safari which is a nice touch. These 'pods are a far cry from my old 10 Gig ipod classic. (R.I.P. Master Shake)

Oh yea, the 8 gig iPhone is now only $399, and i still can't fucking afford it, 54.99 min. a month (with only 200 fucking text's, what are we Monkeys?)

The newest features for the iPhone are Apples new ring-tone creator, which works with iTunes songs. (99 cents plus the cost of the song, if ya don't have it) and a Co-op with Starbucks in-which a button automatically appears anytime you are with in a certain distance from starbucks (sort of an anti-restraining order). Anyway, this feature allows you to see what song is playing in Starbucks and the previous 10 songs played. I always figured that when you are in Starbucks you are too concerned with image to get your phone out to check the song. I mean you should already be pretending to know the Song and artist while you drink your $10 designer cups of joe. How about some real use for this feature, here is where I'd like to see this feature used.

Radio Stations: You should be able to automatically connect to your local stations and see what songs are playing. Since this feature is already rampant on the web, it should be easy to incorporate.

Movie Theaters/Film Studios: Since you don't always get the songs that are played in the movies on the soundtrack, and some of us learn it the hard way. There should be a demand to know what songs are playing in the movies you like, and it should be easily accessible.

Television Commercials: Cell phones, Cars, & Alcohol..trendsetters in style and music. Any questions?

There are really plenty of places for these features to be utilized, but it will be a while before we see some outside the coffee shops.

p.s. Go See Superbad.

They Put the O in Casino

So this past weekend i did what every 23 year old guy dreams of doing...playing penny slots with his mother.

The whole situation was pretty sweet overall, i only lost 35 bucks and it wasn't my money to begin with...this is why i was on penny slots.

What i observed, other than the fact my mother has a slight addiction to Super Jackpot Party (rightfully so) and my sister being a ringer at quarter video poker (kick-ass) was the supreme amount of people on oxygen at the slots (at least 20 people, never at any-slots over 10 cents) at one point a lady in a wheelchair pulls up next to my dad at the nickels, she was missing one leg and had one of the biggest oxygen tanks i have ever witnessed outside the space program, he felt obligated to leave because she was smoking a cigar.

So...this makes me wonder if they actually need the tanks, because i doubt it if there is any truth the rumor of casino's pumping in the big O.

In the word of Tyler Durden "Oxygen gets you high"

More oxygen = Intoxication

Intoxication = More playing

More playing = More Money

More Money = Technical Up Grades (Like prosthesis and rascal scooters...not to mention more Oxygen!)

Keep living the dream...

Nothing Constructive

I really have nothing constructive to say, maybe it will hit me midstream.

Nothing really new, i just finished Chuck Klosterman's newest book IV it was very entertaining which i come to expect. If you don't know, some of the publications he is involved with are Spin Magazine, Esquire Magazine, and at one time some random newspaper in Akron.

Also, i really want the iPhone, now. So someone hook me up. I better get a good deal for switching networks, but i know i won't.

I watched the Presidential Speech, that's always good to start an argument. It's funny how people have no idea how little we know as a population. and i mean that in multiple ways. 1)No one fucking watches the news anymore or reads more than the sports page and 2)We are kept out of the loop on purpose by the GOV. no not the GOP but the Government as a whole.

Here is how it went down, i watched a portion of the speech with my friend that is a new friend and is one that i haven't had a chance to probe politically. She wants to be a teacher so she is pro ED. (Which we all should be) but she is also pissed off about everything else like healthcare, social security, our troops over seas and on and on.

This would be a totally different administration if no one had flown planes into the towers, you can't deny that.

And we don't know what situation we will be in if there was a Dem. in office.

If the troops don't want to be there, they shouldn't be troops. This will open the eyes of every one who is and who is thinking about being a reservist for the armed forces.

I love this country, i also know that we can't always agree, but as long as everyone is equal (and what i mean by equal is that they are registered and taxed accordingly) and Justice is carried out (i.e. Terrorists) i can deal with petty arguments and accusations

Hmm, i did not foresee all this

Oh well,

Sex Pistols in The Rain

The other day i was watching the remake of Mel Brooks' great musical the Producers, and i must say that i greatly enjoyed it. I noticed that not only this particular musical but others that i have seen recently (Fiddler on the Roof and South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut) that the majority of the songs seem to derive from either a)Nothing or B)Anything at all. While viewing this and simultaneously contriving this notion i realized what musicals actually remind me of.....Punk Rock! More specifically a more expensive and more traditional and certainly longer punk rock video (or even a punk rock concert). Now there are some differences like wardrobe and speech. For the most part punk rock music (and their respective videos) are a derivative of broadway.

Well maybe the wardrobe isn't quite so different.
